  • In 2009 98% of Aspen High School graduates went on to college
  • In 2009, Aspen Community School was recognized as one of Colorado’s top performing schools based on 3 years of sustained academic growth. Greater than 75% of the 2009 8th graders scored advanced on CSAP
  • In 2009 ASD students grades 3-12, showed pronounced improvements in CSAP and ACT scores
  • 9% increase over 2008 scores in reading (82 to 91)
  • Four of eight grades met or exceeded prior year scores in math and writing
  • All grade levels exceeded state numbers from 13 – 24%
  • In all areas intervention showed positive results
  • We saw a 10% increase in ELL students who achieved proficient /advanced results from 07 to 08
  • The gender gap has been reduced by 2/3rds over the last 3 years
  • Economically disadvantage students showed an increase of almost 20% in scores from 07 to 08
  • 2009 ACT scores showed an increase of approximately 2 points in each subject area
  • All 2009 ACT scores exceed state average in excess of 3 points and in some areas as much as 4 points

 

 

Many of the improvements noted above can tie directly back to positions and programs that have been made possible because of private support.
