1. AEF has raised money for the public schools of Aspen, CO for 19 years.

2. AEF has distributed over $4.6 million to the schools.

3. 1600 students are served annually by the Aspen Public Schools.

4. 150 teachers are employed in the Aspen School District.

5. The Student/Teacher ratio in the Aspen Public Schools is 17:1. Goal: 14:1

6. Colorado is ranked 40th in per pupil spending at less than $9,000 per student and 49th in the country in how much of our personal income goes to education.

7. Colorado is $1,000 per pupil less than the national average. Goal: Raise an additional $500/student in each of the next two years.

8. Colorado property taxes and related state monies are not sufficient to fund our children’s basic educational needs.

9. The annual amount that needs to be raised to bring the students of Aspen up to average is: $1,600,000.Goal: Raise $750,000 in 2009/2010.
